The New York Yankees managed to stave off a sweep last night, sending the 2024 MLB World Series to Game 5 tonight. Below, we’ll show you everything you need to know about watching World Series live streams.

Despite the franchise’s 27 titles and relatively breezy experience at the Playoffs, the New York Yankees got off to a rocky start at the 2024 World Series. The team lost the first three games to the Los Angeles Dodgers, but they were able to pull off an 11-4 win on Tuesday and force a Game 5, which will also take place on their home field in the Bronx. Anthony Volpe was undeniably the star of the game, hitting a grand slam in the third inning that helped cement the Yankees’ win. With seven World Series titles to their name, the Dodgers will attempt to seal an eighth tonight.

Will the Dodgers win the World Series tonight, or will the Yankees live to fight another day? We’ll make sure you can tune in live to see. And if you’re hoping to catch the World Series in person, check out our guide to getting World Series tickets.

How to watch the World Series in the US

The World Series airs on FOX in the US. All games will be broadcast on the network, including the potential Games 6 and 7. Those without cable or a good antenna can access FOX through a live TV package like Sling TV, DirecTV Stream, or Fubo. All three options made our roundup of the best sports streaming services.

Sling TV is the cheapest option, but coverage of local channels (like FOX) varies from region to region, so you should look up your zip code before subscribing to ensure you can access the network. Sling Blue carries select local networks and 40+ other live channels for $40/month, making it one of the more affordable live TV packages out there. New customers can get their first month for half-off, so it’s just a $20 investment tonight.

DirecTV Stream and Fubo are two other popular live TV streaming packages. DirecTV Stream plans start at $87/month, and Fubo plans start at $80/month, so they’re definitely more expensive than Sling, but they carry more than twice the number of channels. Both services also offer broad FOX coverage, so they’re both good options if Sling is missing the channel in your region. DirecTV Stream offers a five-day free trial, while Fubo offers a seven-day free trial and $20 off your first month of service.

How to watch the World Series from anywhere

If you’re traveling outside the US, you can keep up with your subscriptions and the game with the help of a VPN (virtual private network). VPNs are handy cybersecurity tools that let you change your virtual location, meaning you can use your usual apps and websites from anywhere. Since the services we’ve highlighted require US forms of payment, this option will work best for Americans who are just abroad at the moment.

If you’re not sure where to start when it comes to VPNs, our top recommendation is ExpressVPN. The service has a user-friendly interface (even for beginners) and comes with a hassle-free 30-day money-back guarantee. You can check out our ExpressVPN review for additional details and keep reading to learn how to use a VPN.

How to watch the World Series with a VPN

    • Sign up for a VPN if you don’t have one.
    • Install it on the device you’re using to watch the game.
    • Turn it on and set it to a US location.
    • Sign up for your chosen streaming service if you don’t already have an account.
    • Enjoy the game!

Note: The use of VPNs is illegal in certain countries, and using VPNs to access region-locked streaming content might constitute a breach of the terms of use for certain services. Insider does not endorse or condone the illegal use of VPNs.
